Threads in Simplified Chinese. Looks like I found a Head-fi.org based in Mainland China! They've got a Little Dot Micro!! Cute!
Lots of pictures for those who don't read Chinese...and super cheap!

Info on Little Dot

Oops, found an English section of the Little Dot site

The Little Dot III would be on sale during the August.
(designed for both Speaker and Headphone)

It looks so stunning.

It does. I swear, I never thought to give mainland products much respect until recently. Now it's so tempting to set up a complete system with PRC products and start a "Team Asia-fi"....

I see that you are from Taiwan. I am looking at the Cute amp from Firestone. Does it have a good reputation?

Yes, the Cute Amp sounds very good cost/performancely.
The designer of Cute said that is tweaked for high impedance Headphone like HD650 or AKG's .

There are 3 kinds of Cute : Cute beyond (higher level*), Battery Cute , Cute.

(* is chinese-like English due to my poor English....i dunno how to tell this * in English which one is high priced and better performing)

The sound is detailed, quite wide headstage, a bit cold sounding, suitable with instructment music and classic music. Not so good (maybe worse?) when singing the female vocal.

Indeed that is not matched with my Japanese headphone.

Of course this review is by comparing with other cheap head amps.
(Its hard to find lowprice Amp in Taiwan)
And i even can say Cute is just a good "Product".(This means it cannot beat DIYed amp at all)

In addition ,I can tell , Little Dot II is better than the Cute.(except the size,"little" dot is kinda a "Huge" amplifier)

BTW, the popularity of cute,i assume, is resulted by "looking" "cheap" "OP changeable", especially the last one, people says Cute can be suited with several characteristic headphone with different OPs )

Cool amp, but $200? I can't read chinese, what other cute amps are there and what prices are they?
i think the 200usd is included the shipping cost.

In Taiwan , its original price is around 70usd~80usd, and upgraded version "beyond" is about 150usd~160usd.

The one in the link I posted is "cute",the normal version.

P.S. "beyond" there is only one color blue.

Do you mean the Cute Amp ?

Here is the firestone, official website of Cute Amp:
http://www.firestone.idv.tw/

I think you cant read the Chinese , just send what you wanna ask to the designer of Cute - David Lin by Email: (i guess he would read English)

david.lin@mail.firestone.idv.tw

The new Little dot micro is just on sale, no one tried it in Taiwan...

But i've tried the Little Dot II with audio technica AD-1000

Compared to the Pro-ject Head-box,
Little Dot II has less background noise,
stronger sound, more real vocal , booming bass (remakable),
less detail,smaller headstage,
in a word, Tube-like sounding.Musical Amplifier.

How to Order Little Dot Amps in English.

Hi all..

For those of you who are Chinese Language challenged like moi, here's a link on how to order Little Dots in English:
http://www.little-tube.com/forum/for...=9&%20amp;PN=1

If you are in US, I think there is someone in US who will order them for you, manage the shipment etc. for a fee of USD$25 on top of the cost of the LD Amp in Chinese Yuans and the DHL Shipping. I think you can email him at:
zunqiu@gmail.com

However, if you want to deal with the maker of the LDs personally, you can email him at: swco@163.com .. but from the post, it does seem quite a hassle..

Hope this helps!

why would you ever buy that cute amp when you can get the LDII for half the price?

Because it's CUTE!!! hahaha! Seriously, I don't see travelling with a tube amp.

But I'll probably end up with a SM3 or Portaphile for my portable and then the LD3 for home use...the Cute is neat, but it doesn't seem to perform at a level that I'd be comfortable with...

And the maker swears that it will work well with the K501s *YAY* as someone wanted to know if it will bring the bass up a bit...
