I usually only buy Guinness when I'm braising or making stews as well.  It makes a nice beef or lamb braising liquid.

I remember making a stew with Guinness Stout and didn't care for the strong taste of the stout. I've never cooked with Guinness Draught. This is a first. Also a first drinking draught over stout. We shall see (and taste!).

I got a single beef short rib in the oven right now.  biggrin.gif

 

No Guinness though.  Stuff's weak.  There's better, and stronger.

 

Edit: For drinking.  Though not draught, so... enjoy it!

I got 2 ribs cut in half, so I have 4 easy pieces. rolleyes.gif

I just wanted some beef real quick so I rubbed one in oil and that 21 Salute and foiled it up in the oven for some minutes until I smelled good smells.

Wow. That was quick. I didn't think you could cook raw ribs that quickly and have them turn out well. That 21 Salute is magic. If you like savory grits that 21'll do it fine too.

The ribs are resting at the moment while I roast some asparagus in ume vinegar, olive oil, and chile flakes. Aaaaahhhhhh!
