how many of you guys cook??? - Page 141

I usually only buy Guinness when I'm braising or making stews as well.  It makes a nice beef or lamb braising liquid.

I remember making a stew with Guinness Stout and didn't care for the strong taste of the stout. I've never cooked with Guinness Draught. This is a first. Also a first drinking draught over stout. We shall see (and taste!).

I got a single beef short rib in the oven right now.  biggrin.gif

No Guinness though.  Stuff's weak.  There's better, and stronger.

Edit: For drinking.  Though not draught, so... enjoy it!

I got 2 ribs cut in half, so I have 4 easy pieces. rolleyes.gif

I finished drinking the first bottle.

I just wanted some beef real quick so I rubbed one in oil and that 21 Salute and foiled it up in the oven for some minutes until I smelled good smells.

Wow. That was quick. I didn't think you could cook raw ribs that quickly and have them turn out well. That 21 Salute is magic. If you like savory grits that 21'll do it fine too.

Well, it was in the oven for a little while before I posted.  biggrin.gif

Lots of good ingredients from Whole Foods,I see it's coming along nicely too.
Really take your time to develop the sauce, that's what takes it up a notch.
Heh,never occurred in my mind to do a single beef rib in the oven like a baked potato, you must have been jonesing badly for a beef fix,EP.

I threw the roll-cut carrots in at the halfway point.
