headfiers ever bother to operate on the SR60s and SR80s. They are pretty cheap and mostly not worth tampering with and as of others in my league, its still a significant investment & I wouldn't rip it open unless I know exactly what to expect and how go about it. Anyway, after owning both, I can say that I was very happy with the upgrade. The Sharp highs of the SR60 is attenuated making it ever more relaxing and non-fatiguing and also has more bass. I have not really listened to them much unamped, but many here claim they work just perfect.
