Bithead or Total Bithead - is the Total upgrade worth it?

Hello.

I have a pair of HD555s I have been using for a couple weeks and I am looking for a good portable/home amp. I have been considering either the Headroom Bithead or Total Bithead. Is the upgrade to the "total" really worth it?

I will be running the HD555s out of an ipod on the road and my Onkyo TX-SR501 receiver connected to my Sony DVD player at home.

Not sure if this is an option for you, but you should always have a listen yourself before making the final choice. Therefore you could buy both and return the one you don't like.

If money is not that much of a concern, and the $ difference is not that much anyway, opt for the Total. I dion't think you can go wrong, and resale value is from what I've seen not to shabby either.

I really liked my bithead with the 595, dunno about the 555 though. I've also seen someone here that has heard both, and didnt notice much of a difference.

*Also, my Bithead is for sale in the fs/ft for a low price, I gotta get a new monitor
