Audiophile room fan - Page 2

A good quality ceiling fan run at low-medium speeds is generally a very quiet option, and circulates air through the whole room. They're great when they work, and as long as they're installed properly should provide many years of low noise service. When they start vibrating and squealing it's time to get a new one though

Was going to suggest this. I have a ceiling fan in my listening room and it makes hardly a peep even at full burst! Would definitely recommend grabbing one of those and mounting it on the ceiling

Everytime I walk into a Sharper Image, it reaks so bad of feet by the ionic breeze section. If that's the smell created by 24/7 use, I'd strongly suggest STAYING AWAY. hahaha.

My Honeywell fans get the job done. They're not totally silent, unfortunately, but they get the air moving. Anyway, I'd rather be comfortable at the cost of some slight noise than to be in a silent room sweating my ass off.

OK, I used to work in a darkroom.

We had one small fan that would circulate the air. it was a duct fan.....and it was almost outside the room.

It did a great job moving air. Maybe something like that would work.

Ceiling fans are totally the way to go. They move a lot of air and hardly make any noise.

im not one for fans, I have a split level A/C, the compressor unit is under my house and I have a vent that comes into my room. Its kinda pricy but I felt it was worth the investment. Mitsubishi makes them, called a "Mr. Slim" and its reallll quiet. But if you cant do that, I say get the chick with a fan thing going, if you sip a dark rum and OJ you can feel like your in the caymans with wmcmanus listening to some tunes on his latest and greatest cd unit! LOL

A ceiling fan, plus a small personal fan from Brookstone. I place mine about 3 ft. away on my desk, and use it's variable speed to adjust for comfort and noise level. The speed is set lower when using a K1000.
