As a counterpoint, and in my humble opinion, using an interconnect as a tone control to compensate for an inadequate source is ill-advised.

I'd put the money into a better source...

How about MagWires Nakeds?

I think they are around $25 new on Audiogon.

I believe you can even get a 1/8 or 1/4 plug at no additional charge.

The DiMarzio M-Path's that I have been using recently are quite nice. I will be comparing them to the Grover UR's and some chinese cables shortly and start a thread with impressions.

All good suggestions here, thanks for your contribution. I already settled for another head-fier's DIY cables and am pretty certain I will be quite satisfied. But for the sake of building a reference for others, keep them ideas coming

as for the source, i have pretty much reached what many head-fiers call the point of diminishing returns. no plans on upgrading the source for next couple of years unless i win a lotto or something
