I'm in Krabi, heading to Phi Phi. There is little tourism due to it being the low season and post tsunami. We've been fortunate to have little rain and temperate days.

Thanks to all those who gave me advice about travelling.

i've started a small weblog to post video and pics of my journey.

It's amazing that you are doing this - you're from the states right? Best of luck and travel safe with your companion. The other amazing things you posted are

I just paid $220 for a tiny room not on the beach at Cape May, NJ.

Good to hear from you. I'll be watching your weblog for future developments because you're obviously having the adventure of a lifetime.

Best of luck,

Hey, are you coming up to Bangkok at all? There's a couple of head-fi members, myself included, hanging around this Eastern "City of Angels".... might be nice to catch up for a cup of coffee and chat.

Oh wait... I just saw your web log. You were in Bangkok. Alas... well, maybe next time.

Heh... Khaosan road is a queer place, it comes Starbucks (a really neat one too... shares a Colonial style building with a art shop), McDonalds, Burger King, bars, "laid back" resturants with jazz bands, stores selling illegal CDs, tatooing places, street vendors selling falafels and pitas, etc., all tossed into one street filled with all sorts of people.

every day makes my mind explode here.

If you're in Phi Phi, go rent a sailboat, or if you must, a power boat from the Boat Lagoon and get away from all the tourists. A week on a well stocked boat will cost less than a week in a hotel...and you can pick up and go anytme you want.
