I knew you had probably owned them, it just caught me as funny

Stump up the extra for the MS1's - that's probably where you'll go after the 'upgraditus' hits!

Let me just say this,

I have SR80's and I love them. They sound great with my RA-1 clone and I was very happy with them.

However, I wanted to make up for some of the inadequecies that the cans had. I found them a little too bright, (just not enough bass, but htey have SWEET highs) and not detailed enough.

I recently listened to RS-2, RS-1, and PS-1's and I found that I didnt like any of them better than my new 325i's.

The 325i's were perfect advances on the SR80, and they have a VERY nice sound signature, as well as a boost in the bottom end. These are my new favorite headphone, and I will be hanging on to them for along time (hopefully).

But as usual, YMMV

I think the Head-Fi rule is: "When in doubt, go for the costlier choice. Even if you hate it, you can take comfort in knowing the alternative was undoubtedly worse."

Enjoy your MS1s.
