Grado Lineup

Thread Starter
I really liked the Grado 325s, I was wondering would I be getting 1/3 of the performance if I went with the MS1, or would I be getting something closer to 60-80%?

I.E. can I skimp a bit? (I have no way of auditioning the MS1s). I do know I like the Grado sound (based on the 225 and 325)

I have owned the 60,80,225,325,325i,RS-1, and out of all these cans I feel IMO that the MS-1 is the best value for the money.

yes, the ms-1 is your ticket of entry into the head-fi world. as jahn states it, the ms-1 is the gateway drug.

I was cracking up mostly becacuse LTUCCI1924 said he owned all these grado phones, except the ones the OP was asking about and then recommended that pair. Perhaps when I grow up and become a Headeye master I'll be able to recommend and comment on cans I've never heard as well. until then... happy posting here

He did own it at one time. Come to think of it Its hard to think of a headphone that he didn't own.

I don't know if I will ever own them all, but I will own the RS-1 in the very near future!

I owned the MS-1 with the beta c-pads. I should have made that clearer. I usually don't post on cans that I have not owned. Sorry

Help

Ltucci, how do you compare:

RS1 vs HD590 (Equinox)

SR325 vs SR325i

thanks

The RS-1 V 590. The RS-1 are allot clearer and way more detailed over the 590 but the 590 are a very fun sounding headphone. Also the 590 are so very comfortable and have an awesome bass. I found the 590 to be very much like the Beyer 770-pro bass.

The 325 V 325i. The 325i have a much better high end and is allot smother than the 325 high end. Also the 325i have a better sound stage over the 325.

I had the MS-1 and then bought the 225 again and the 225 did have a more spacious sound stage more air if you will. Then I bought the 325i and they were so very detailed with even a better sound stage. But after a short while I regretted selling the MS-1 which I thought had a similar sound to the other headphones and at a cost of only 99.00.

I am the lucky recepient of Lou's MS-1. I listen to the MS-1 more then my SR-60's. The sound is smoother and low's tighter. Lou's loss in my gain. (Sorry Lou)
