So i posted over at iaudiophile about this, people were complaining about the "loose noise" from something in the player. This is what i posted (hope someone more risky than me will try and go farther):

I tried going farther, but even releasing the 2 top screws i was unable to remove the chip without considerable bending and cracking noises.. I didn't want to risk breaking it. Sorry for nothing much, but while the casing was off i tipped it upside down several times. Its definitely the HD making the noises, i highly doubt its anything to worry about, but I'm not sure how to check further. I may try taking it apart again tomorrow if I'm feeling risky and remove the HD to be absolutely sure.
