Thanks for the good review, I was debating for a while if I wanted to see this.

There are just too many good animes out right now to follow all of them. I'm at least 50 episodes behind on Naruto already, I haven't started Bleach yet, and Trinity Blood looks pretty good... Oh the choices...

The last anime I watched was Fullmetal Alchemist and I loved it. Easily one of the favorites if not my favorite. Now I'm trying to get my hands on the movie... Anyone got any ideas, PM me.

Just finished up with Heat Guy J and I gotta say it is one of the most excellent series I've had the pleasure of viewing. I heard it was excellent but it still exceeded my expectations. It's basically in the detective/action genre thats set in the future, in a unique environment where cities are divided and dependant on a race of people that provide the technology for air and water, and there are also people living outside of this city in the underground and in the forests avoiding the people in the main city. The main character is a detective of sorts whos partner is a robot "J" that assists him in his quests. The episodes are rarely repetitive and we watch as the main character collects friends throughout the 26 episodes that all back him up. The robot also becomes closer to the other characters over time. There is also some nice plot twisting and well integrated CGI that isn't bothersome like it usually is. All this is highly impressive, and what's even stranger is this is usually anime in the bargain bin at your local con. Highly recommended.
4.75/5

I only watched an episode or two but my problem with it is that it seemed too self consciously "cool." That, or melodramatic, it's been a while.

Really? I didn't find it to be either of the two, but it can be difficult to judge an anime based on 1-2 episodes. Take as an extreme example the first episode of Evangelion. The main character could come off on the side of trying to be cool but you will find that a lot in the detective genre. I found that at first Tenjho Tenge seemed like it was trying to be too "cool" but it grew on me after a few episodes.

Or at least anyone who reads Bleach manga.

Bleach is best anime out there for now. Every anime lover should get to know it.

I don't know where I saw it, maybe it was this thread, lol! but I do know that the Guyver series is being remade or whatever and it looks pretty sick and can't wait for it to come out

Guyver is a pretty cool REALLY OLD series to watch, not many episodes but it's cool.

Just finished Girls Bravo, the series that I saw the first four episodes of at Otakon and initially reviewed and really enjoyed. It really seemed like it was off to a great start but I've gotta say it really sputtered out at the end, it just felt like it didn't go anywhere. There were a couple of funny parts but just not enough to make the last set of episodes worth watching. Overall 2.75/5 Since the DVDs say "season 1" I assume there will be more.

Recently finished Full Metal Panic, and FMP: Fumoffu. Watched and rewatched introducing the series to an anime loving friend of mine. Really liked it a lot, perfect mix of serious action and comedy, and we both nearly busted a spleen laughing at the Fumoffu series.

Now I'm trying to introduce the friend to Steel Angel Kurumi. One of my favorites by far, it just can't help but stir up warm and fuzzy feelings inside of you. And the ending is one of the best endings I've ever seen in an anime series. Highly recommended.

I'm currently trying to start on the Noir series. Should be good.

I found Beck, especially the manga, to be a very well made anime. The ambience in which the characters develop is very accurate imho.

My all time fav has to be FLCL though. This anime is just pure pleasure

Another good one which I dont see mentionned is Hikaru No Go, which is an anime about Go. Boring says you? nay. Give it a shot and see.
