Pretty much how I feel about it.  And about headphones.  wink_face.gif

Most common aggravation I have is usually with video games, where there will inevitably be the comment along the lines of "NO JAPANESE TRACK = NO BUY" which also inevitably prompts the response "USE ENGLISH WEABOO".  Usually make me want to put both groups into a cage and have them fight it out MMA style.  Would probably be a more entertaining use of all the energy and spite.

More on topic, I've turned to Koihime Musou for the billionth viewing as my "light" anime watching to unwind.  All fan service and almost no thought or emotional commitment necessary.  About what the doctor ordered after I get home after evening workshops and need to ice tweaked tendons.  ^.^

Can agree pretty much on the top 2 paragraph. Needs more cage fight of two entrenched sides like those, regardless of what hobbies. very_evil_smiley.gif

Needs a new 'unwind' anime methinks. Too stressful lately, and Acchi Kocchi seems to do the works, but it's still on going. Seto no Hanayome used to do me good, but not anymore LOL. I can entertain the thought of Nichibros, but I can still remember the jokes, so that takes out the fun of it. Something along those lines would be nice. Nichijou?

Nothing in summer to look forward to though, seems pretty bland and generic to me. Which is a good thing, since in summer  where I'm staying internet is a pitiful state.

As for sub vs dub, I guess the ultimate test for me personally would be the upcoming licensed Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei that's rumored to be in the works. Definitely will be highly critical of it, regardless if I can actually understand the breadth of the original Japanese, as I felt the fansubbers did a stupendously great job at explaining almost all the cultural references. It's better if I don't have to pause every half a second to enjoy it more fully.

Regarding Lain, I've checked it on youtube. Doesn't seem too bad, but it's not good either. So so I guess.
SZS dubs? Sounds interesting, but with the huge amount of puns I honestly doubt it is possibly to do it right.

For comedy genres I would argue subs beat dubs anytime.
I personally hate pretty much all English language voice acting. I don't know why, but even with excellent shows such as Korra the English VA makes me cringe. It just sounds wrong to hear English voices from cartoons. Probably because I grew up with Dutch dubs, and I only started watching English language cartoons much, much later when I was 14-15. (cartoons meaning any non-Japanese animation)

What were your favourites? Least favourites?  Best soundtrack?

I disliked Tomodachi ga Sukunai, and watched nearly all of what you have recently seen, so I'm just curious about what you think =]

Favorites from what I recently watched:

Nisemonogatari - these 2 anime made want to learn Japanese culture, yet again.

Bakemonogatari - "

Steins;Gate - I love Sci-Fi and every episode gave me goosebumps

Chihayafuru - Made me wanna play Karuta. Season 2 needed.

Guilty Crown - Really love the OST, in fact I downloaded the whole OST and BGM and added to my song list in my iPod

Mirai Nikki - I dont like getting betrayed. This anime gave me lots of negative emotions but still added to favorites since it made me express a lot of emotions.

The others are just so-so but I still enjoyed them. Im so addicted to anime that I dont dislike any anime. Am I still normal? LOL

Im currently watching Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, still on the early episodes though. But I'll finish this tonight. All-nighter FTW!

How bout you? Why'd you disliked this anime?

BTW, sorry for my english. still not fluent enough atsmile.gif

Nono your English is great!

I enjoyed everything you listed, as well =P

Steins;Gate is my favourite and I finished Guilty Crown solely because of the music.  The story was blargh at best, haha.

I think I disliked Tomodachi ga Sukunai because it was too slice-of-life + fanservice only.  It just didn't appeal much to me =P

Based on what you liked from recently (it matches exactly what i loved from that list!), I think you'd love Fate/Zero.  Just a feeling~

Everyone should also give Ano Natsu De Matteru a chance!

Thanks, gave me confidence to post here. hehe

I'd definitely put Steins;Gate among my top 5 animes. Its that good. There is a similar upcoming anime that has a semi-colon in its title, Argh, forgot the title.

I agree, the story wasnt that good, but I still loved it because of the music and of course, the sword. Im a sword-freak XD

I'll finish Tomodachi ga Sukunai and ill give my opinion.

Hah! Fate/Zero, I knew someone would recommend me that. I loved the Fate/Stay Night(Exuuu calibe! haha). I didnt put this anime in my to-watch list since I still dont have a copy and isnt finished yet. I dont like waiting for a next episode, Its torture to me. tongue.gif I also have my eye on Accel World. I know it'll be great, I just know. haha atsmile.gif Ano Natsu De Matteru, someone already recommended that to me but I think I forgot. I'll be jotting it down now. smily_headphones1.gif

Agreed about your English.  I didn't have any problem understanding it.  English is my first language and there have definitely been posts from me that are far less intelligible.  ^_^

I enjoyed Nisemonogatari, but not as much as Bakemonogatari.  I think Bakemonogatari had a little more substance to it, and the pacing was a little more even, while Nisemonogatari seemed to wait a long time to hit stride and seemed to have even more fan service somehow.  Like I said, I enjoyed it though.

I agree.

Although the toothbrush scene was one of the best ever.

IF it makes you feel better SHAFT is said to be animating the REST of the series! It causes a delay in the release of the Baka movie too..

Heh...when I saw that scene I didn't know how to take it, honestly.  You'd think with the relationships as established, it wouldn't have been quite as much a "wha?!" moment for me, but it was.  Thinking about it more, there's also part of me that wishes they had either focused even more on the sisters or more on the cameos from the last series, rather than the some fan service (in the non ecchi way) of having  the past heroines make mostly brief appearances.  Seemed more contrived and less flowing, if that makes sense.

Yeah, I read that rumor a little while back.  Should be interesting!

I think it warrants being watched, even if you've never even watched the series.

it's just one of those things... I'll never forget as long as I live.
