You're right about that, it could give a licking and never show it...

It is simply higher purity copper. That said, I want and NEED it for my Hp-1's (despite the short that I currently have with them )

They are timeless. No matter what comes out subsequently, these stand alone as something particurlarly special. For those lucky enough to own a pair, I recommend holding on to them, they will likely outlast all their owners.

There was a tale, perhaps it was Onyx, who defended himself with his SR60's in NYC. This was Headwize days. With a pair of HP-1000's he would have been lethal baby!

Nope, a sith lord named mulvelling who had turned to the darkside and sold his HP-2's betrayed us.

WHAT?!?!? Did anyone say "JUDAS"....

Which reminds me of Mr.Ampless who sold his HP-2's as well recently.

The last thing I would sell if things went belly up on me at the last gasp would be the Rs-1's and Hp-2's.

All the rest I could do without,...well maybe not the he60's...or the Ps-1's now that I have found and amp for them...I like the 325i's a lot as well....oh and my little bargain w100's....

zanth>Do I have the ultrawidethingymejiggy on my HP-2's although I don't remember actually looking for it. Also what cable is on my HP-1's? I should really look but I don't really pay much attention to the cables like some other headfiers do.

What amp are you running them with?
You know you are super cool GoRedWings19

You have the regular HP2 cable, Super duper on the HP1, which I am using at the moment, PVD spinning, algorithm writing, oh yeah, doesnt' get much better!

Perhaps the bestest amp for the Grados ever (well save for the Ear HP4 or the Holmes-Powell DCT-2) he is running the EMP Anniverary ed. Amp.

Up until now I wasn't that keen on the Ps-1's. I did think about going balanced but I didn't see any point in wasting money on headphones I am not that keen on.

I use them with an EMP anniv. I recently got. It's the only amp I like them with. Even with my Melos I don't like the PS-1's all that much.
But I have been listening to them non stop since. I haven't even touched my Rs-1's and I love my rs-1 to bits anyway.

So for the PS-1's to be getting more playing time than my Rs-1's that's an achievement in the first place...

Zanth>How does the Hp-2's sound compared to the Hp-1's cable? I have never A/B them as it didn't occur to me.

REcstar>Why don't you rename the thread to HP-series appreciation thread.

I was going to sell them to be honest. But That thought has exited and now I am seriously considering a balanced amp for my phones and get the majority of them converted.

But we'll see.

I am thinkin of a dynamight or the singlepower xlr. I will have to look into pricing and stuff.

Now that there is a HP1000 orgy a-starting, inquiring minds would like to know: how transparent is the SA5000/Qualia 010 compared to the HP1000 phones?
