I got this sony D5a...I don't know why but I just started auditioning all these seventies stuff...three dog night, tower of power, malo, crosby stills and nash, chicago, and...as time goes by, I realize, just what you mean, to me..
ohoh!
how many of you remember "precious and few" by climax?
I say them live with Rare Earth.
I am showing my age again.

Alas Millerdog, you are an old fart. All of those that you mentioned, I grew up listening to. Tower of Power was the first band I ever saw live. They were the best with the original horn section. Same with Chicago and Blood, Sweat, and Tears. If fact, I saw Chicago live as the opening act for......Janis Joplin. Go figure.

Hey, do you remember Cold Blood featuring Lydia Pense?

You know what the funny thing is? I am only 21 and I have music by just about every band you listed on my computer. I don't know, I guess some would call me strang, but I like oldies and seventies music, heck, I like just about any type of music.

Right now I am listening to some Bread.

Actually I saw Rare Earth when I was in fourth grade. I saw TOP with the original horn section in 80 in a small club. I just saw the revamped Chicago last year.
Polygon, I got a friend a little older than you who inherited his brothers record collection. It contains the stuff mentioned here and more. Now, he's on a seventies thing. It's not all that bad of a thing to get into. Makes me sad to think of all the 45's I dumped.
Cold Blood? If I remember correctly they were a local band or at least Lydia Pence was a local girl. uh.."Devil is a Liar" I think was one of their songs.
I recently found TOP Drop it in the Slot on half.com.
I guess I just miss that "fat" sound you get with a horn section.
sigh........

(edit) I think I got Lydia Pence mixed up with someone else. I just searched cdnow Cold Blood is not the band I was thinking about. The name sounded so familiar though. I was about to call a friend, when I remembered the name Pauline Wilson. I can't for the life of me remember the name of her band. The wonders of the internet! She sang with a band called Seawind...I wonder if it made it on the continent?lol... Cold Blood, now Pauline Wilson..more music to get.
