Audible differences between gold/silver

is there an audible difference between silver or gold plugs for headphones?

No. Gold resists oxidation, which causes crackling in the connection over time. Gold plating or flashing reduces the chances of oxidation, reducing the chances of a degraded sound due to an oxidized connector.

What you may be thinking of are nickel plated plugs, not silver plated. I'm personally not aware of any silver plated plugs.

So what you're saying then, there, Jeff, is yes.

No, initially, but eventually yes.

I mean, you even use the words "degraded sound".

So for in the case of the Sony V6/7506, [money not a factor], I should go with the 7506 since it uses gold plugs?

I don't want the chance of any audio degradation.........
