I got the regular brown for both top and bottom, but as you saw there are tons of other options...the only negative for them is that I asked them to make mine narrower (1 inch wide) and they said they would, but it arrived at their standard width (1.5 inches). Not the end of the world though. I like it a lot.

Looks good but it looks a little too heavy duty

I like those, thinking of getting a pair myself.

It's basically two pieces of leather, each an eighth of an inch thick, stitched together, with no padding. The Turbulent Labs ones are more finished looking.

Decided to try a diy for the headband. Just got a leather belt from the thrift store, Anne Klein and fitted the band through the two prices of leather. Took some work but can't beat it for 2 bucks I think.

Nicely done smily_headphones1.gif, and far cheaper than buying one...

What glue did you use?

Oh the belt was "bound together" with glue already. So I just cut out the shape and slid/forced the headband between the two bound pieces of leather.

Even better! Nice and simple with good results...

Yeah, I'd like it to look as good as the one you have, but I'll just use the money saved for some mogami wire to recable my gf's ms1.

I'm bidding on some 7Keys cups on eBay, and am hoping to get them. So I can use my heat gun to get the cups off right? How long should it take to do this? Thanks! Also, I got an SR60i, L-Cush, and wire from DHC. I'm hoping to just have a fun project to do. And I hope it turns out well.

Don't use a heat gun, that's too hot, use a hair dryer. Don't want to damage the drivers.

+2

It takes a little time and when you pull them apart its a little bit of an effort, but don't use a heat gun, it will warp the cups and destroy the drivers.

Only ever direct the heat along the edge of the cup, at 90 degrees to the face/rear of the driver, and rotate the cup as you apply the heat, so it is evenly distributed along the circumference of the cup.

i think the safest approach is to apply a bit of heat as above and then try to pull the two halves of the cup apart, then apply a little more heat and try pulling them apart once more, repeating until the glue finally gives. I found twisting the cups in opposite directions while trying to separate them helped too. Try to use as little heat as you can, really!

Noooooooooooo!!!!!! Right side has gone out on my 225 pinks! Am at the office, but snuck a minute to pop the driver out of my Paduak cups and inspect...the soldering is all fine, next suspect is the cable...not too sure though, as it was new from a pair of 225i when I installed it a few weeks back...*sigh*

Ok, cool. I was reading yesterday, and saw that it recommended the hair dryer, but was too lazy to go back and change my post. Anyways, these are my cups from 7Keys:

Also, can someone point me in the direction for a guide on recabling the Grados? Or just somebody tell me which part is ground, and left/right.
