So far just HD414 reverse pads and new mesh. I made the mesh a bit convex for better appearance.

In your opinion, how do the reversed 414s compare to the bowls?

You are really getting there! You still planning the great "removable cable" mod?

I can tell you that I am not a fan of the Senn pads. I have had five pads and can rank them (personal preferences) like this for you:

Sr60, 80, 225:
1. bowl
2. flat
3. Senn
4. Radioshack
5. Comfie

SR325:
1. Radioshack
2. Flat
3. Comfie
4. Bowl
5. Senn

Are the flats a different foam texture to the bowls?

They seemed a little stiffer, but I didn't keep them very long. They might loosen up.

I've never tried the bowls but I do prefer the Senns over the original pads.

Of course. I want to do my first cMoy first then I'll start messing with cables. Probably do a Canare Starquad interconnect then recable these guys.

@juniperlater: can you link me to the radioshack pads? I can't seem to find them.

I need to head over to radioshack and do that radioshack mod. Looks so nice.

@jonjon, sure give me some time and I will post pics. I got the mesh from a member here. Got really lucky in that. He had a FS thread up for the longest time...I really liked to look of it in his pics. A pm and I got a set. Great guy,

I know it seems weak, but those Radioshack pads are nice sounding and very comfortable on the 325is.
The radioshack pads are ok in a pinch, but they aren't thick enough to fit all the way onto the housings.

My favorite is the Senn 414 pads, since they are stiffer than comfies so they don't vibrate and make the bass muddy. They are basically like bowls that are comfortable.

thanks! Might give these a try.

question... sorry. it's just so hard to search for stuff on head-fi...

i'm looking at the senn hd414 pads for my sr80's and i'm wondering if they are that much more comfortable. the sr80 pads really give my ears a beating after about an hour. or is there any other pad that you guys would recommend?

and if anyone could point me in the direction of where to get those cloth-type cables for a recabling diy, that would be awesome. thanks a bunch

i seriously cant find anything on head-fi...

pm me pls... i dont check head-fi that often

Okey woops. I posted earlier about the glue I used for my grill mod. I used 'secondelijm' in Dutch. It's the glue that sticks in only 1-2 seconds and produces a nasty gas that even colours my plastic cups! Well, opening is a certain nono atm. What to do?! I can't get acetone there since the glue is inside the cup..
