thanks, it really wasn't as hard as I had feared... but believe me, on the first cables I did (I did one mini-mini and one mini-RCA before I attempted this) it didn't look this nice at all... so it is a bit of practice/experience, quite a bit of thinking ahead/planning and still a large scoop of luck (or better a lack of misfortune )

Can you plase provide a link to a supplier of flatpads?

Can anyone describe these Jumb Pads? Specifically, I wonder what the thickness is from the screen on the transducer to the ear surface. I find the flats too flat (and have been making my own gaskets to space them out farther).

Well.. not of a mod so much but.

One beautiful day forgot my SR80's on floor when I left to work, and well, my dog modded them for me.

Ate the headband to ~half of original size, guess he thought they were too heavy or something. Oh and he ate the pads too, I wonder did they taste good? Don't have my cam at home right now so can't post pics yet.

What really surprised me that he didn't eat anything important and the 80's worked like new ones.

Guess the important parts are not the tastier...

My cats usually go for the cables.

Cheap, Available Flat Pads for Grado

I've heard these mentioned before, but I recall somebody asking about part numbers. I walked into a Radio Shack in South Philly today and found (in the Headphones section)

"Headphone - Replacement Ear Cushions: Fits RadioShack Infrared Stereo Headphones and other headphones with removable ear cushions"

Part # 33-379

They're made of medium-lightweight foam and fit my SR-225 like they were made for it. They're a thin, soft flat pad that significantly increases the comfort over those big funky dished stock ones. My ears are unable to detect a drop in sound quality, but I suppose you can always cut out a circle in the center of the pad if you think it muffles the treble.

They cost $5. They're in stock.
They're probably the cheapest thing you can do to make your Grados more comfortable.

My 325 cups came in! I ripped off the buttons and put my tasty HP drivers into it... such a big improvement over the plastic housing. =)

nice.. how did you manage to paint the lettering? Another question about those wood can mods, how much of the wood do you need and how expensive is it?

I went back through the thread but didn't see it - where/how did you order the 325 cups? I would like to get 2 pairs of these.

I have 2 pairs of SR125s that I'm going to start modding. I've started by ordering Headphile mahogany C-pads but want to work on the cups next.

BTW, anyone looking for the DT770 headband cushion, Beyer is selling them direct. I contacted them and they sent me a parts PDF and Word Doc order form that has to be faxed. Unfortuantely, I can't upload them here and don't have anywhere to post them. If anyone wants, I can e-mail them to anyone that's interested.

Would you consider selling the SR100 cups ?

i was wondering if anyone knows if a piece of 3m bumpons have the same impact as the blutak mod on the back of the driver.
