Using Emu 0404 and multiple amps

Hi.

Just a few fairly noddy questions... I've got an Emu 0404 and wondering if I can have my existing setup which is:

0404 optical out > nad amp > speakers

And wondering if I can send the signal to say an external headphone amp as well via the two 1/4' 0404 outputs...

i.e.

0404 ---- optical out > speaker amp > speakers
\-------analog outs > headphone amp > phones

Some things I was wondering about are:

1) Would the output of either signal suffer? Or can it do both simultaneously at 100% quality? (No I wouldn't be listening to both at once, but I'd rather not have to go into PatchMix and change settings/patches if I can just turn on one amp and turn off the other - much easier, imo

2) How badly will it affect CPU and RAM use? I imagine processing twice the signal (and then also doing DAC in this case) will take a fair hit to resources.

3) Is this kinda setup not recommended for any reason?

1) No degradation of signal.

2) I'd estimate it takes the same amount of resources really. The same digital data is just routed to both the digital S/PDIF transmitter and the DAC simultaneously.

3) Can't think of any reason But I haven't tried that kind of setup so I can't be 100% sure.
