Now I own a pair of Koss The Plug earbuds and Sony MDR-EX71's. And I'm trying to figure out if the noise isolation of the Koss (disregarding sound quality from the actual phones) phones are actually better than the EX71's. I can't figure out if I'm wearing the EX71's wrong (doesn't help I lost the one of the "normal" tips and have to use either the small or large on one side), or the Plug noise isolation is better by quite a bit.
Course, logically, it probably is the case. I mean, the Plug are basically foam ear plugs with a hole them. And the EX71's are just a thin piece of silicon between me and the outside world. But again, I'm not entirely sure.
The reason I'm writing this thread is because I'm tempted to get a pair of Sharp MD-33's or Panasonic HJE50's (because of the good reviews here), but if the isolation of either of them is worse then the Plug's, I might just get a pair of KSC-75's when I'm listening at home with my player, and use the Plug's for my commute and school.
