Right now I'm using a couple of cords from the quail group buy but have been thinking of upgrading a bit. Anyone use these cords? Opinions? Search wasn't much help.

If you dont plan on spending valhalla type money, I can personally recommend the VH Audio Flavor power cords. They are around $100 depending on length, he offers various models for different applications, and Chris venhaus has one of the best reps in the cable business for making quality stuff that is simply killer, just check out audioasylum and do a search or read the reviews to get a sense of what they are about.

I quite like the venhaus flavour 4 for my amp.

Just seems like they used a buzzword generator to make it. That Magic Digital thing just dropped me off my chair

Thanks Big and Rec....they look good. I've sent him an email on my needs but so far no response. Guess I'll give it a few more days before moving on. Curious, I'd planned on a better cable for the Raptor but wonder if my 555ES would benefit from it or if I should stick with the quail cord for the player? Would the upgraded power cord be overkill for the cd player?

One thing I'll say about the MagicPower cable is that while it's pretty thin, it is annoyingly stiff and difficult to get into a suitable position. Its plug also seems to be slightly too small which makes it slip out of the power jack when moved. The combination of the above 2 problems, makes for a frustrating experience at times.

Getting a cable for the raptor really isnt necessary Ken, the improvement will hardly be noticeable, and to my ears with Ray's power supplies i hear no difference whatsoever from a generic quail cord and some other power cord. The PSU takes in your wall's AC, and filters and cleans the hell out of it, ultimately sending your raptor a nice +/- 12 V clean DC power, you really dont need a power cord for that badboy.

For the cdp, depending on what type of cord you get, the differences can definitely be noticeable, now whether its positive or negative ill let you decide...

Second the VH audio recommendation. Great customer service and good resale value although these are rarely resold.

Thanks for the advice. I'm looking into the Flavor 4 for the 555ES. Now about that avatar bundee....dude, that's just plain tough to deal with!
