Picked up a BPT jr - questions.

I received it today and have a few questions if anyone would be so kind to answer. My apologies if the inquries have been asked or are stupid.

1)It has a set of digital and a set of analog outlets. Which set is digital and why does it matter?

2)It is a MKII version. I see the MKII label in many product titles. How is this relevant?

3)Finally, there seems to be more detail. Is this natural for power conditioning or am I really hitting the crack pipe now?

Nooooo!!!!! I wanted that!!!! i saw it on audiogon, yet i was too late, damn you!!!

Balanced power, imo, is the REAL deal, you are not on crack (or are you?), there are definite improvements when you feed your rig with balanced power

I've had my BPT-Jr for a few years now, it's definitely the real deal. Very sad they're not being made anymore, but there's always the bigger models.

1) If I remember correctly, it's the outlet furthest from the unit's power switch. Ask Chris Hoff (BPT owner) for the specifics.

2) Just so you know it's the latest version. It has a few minor options included that were upgrades for the original version, I believe better outlets among other things.

3) Step away from the crackpipe and nobody gets hurt! Haha, nah, lowered noise floor and better power means subtle details are much more obvious, and that's just one of the many audible benefits you're likely to notice.

Thanks for the reply dhwilkin.

Well, I have come to the end - first the Heaphones forum, then the computer as source forum, then the amps, then the source, and now here, where all the noobs who don't give up sooner end.

Where is my medal?

I found head-fi. I read head-fi. Head-fi made me her bitch, but it sure sounds good.

Rec, I am going to test the BPT for myself this weekend and conclude whether my hearing is sufficient for its benefits. If my conclusions are not clear, you shall be the first I contact.

As for now, placebo, crack or not, there is just something that sounds better.

The digital outlets are for your CD player/DAC/DVD player which are supposed to possibly introduce more noise back through the line, hence are isolated and filtered separately from the rest of the outlets.

Yeah, as with any "tweak" I tested it out cheaply at first, using a $24 Vans Evers Companion power strip. Then upgrading to the AudioPrism Foundation II. Who would have ever thought I'd spend $350 on a "surge protector"?

Excellent...hold on, did i say balanced power works? You know what, i was just kidding with you, its all placebo, repeat after me, your actually not hearing more detail and resolution, its all placebo, sell to recstar24 at ungodly low price...

I have a Balanced Power Technologies BP.Jr II Ultra with Signature Upgrades and a custom BPT Litz 9AWG with FIM AC/IEC and Super Shield AC cord. I firmly believe that clean, balanced power is the foundation upon which all high end AV systems should be built upon. If you do a search for some of my earlier posts after having mine heavily modded, then you will realize that it improved the quality of sound and video of even a humble Panasonic DVD-RP82. In my reference system, it is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend using it all of the time and I also highly recommend that you mod it through Balanced Power Technologies.
