I recieved my HD 650's as a birthday present and have seen posts where a 5 year warranty is available if bought from an authorized dealer. Mine were bought from headroom so i thought hey i can get it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Upon calling Sennheiser in Canada the rep told me that Canadians do not have access to that and they have to go through the dealer for such warranty. So i called headroom and he had no idea of why that would be. He's going to ask someone (forgot his name) about it when he is in. Have any other Canadians got their 5 year warranty and if so what did you have to do and how much did it cost? thanks

Woah, a fellow Sask resident on these boards? Whodathunkit.
I'm curious about Canadian warranties as well, since I'm likely going to be sending mine in soon for repair (paint on the headband is flaking like mad). I got mine second hand, but have the reciepts from the original owner, so here's to hoping I don't encounter any troubles. It'd be really nice to know if the HD650s are in fact covered for 5 whole years, though, as I can't see myself giving these cans up any time soon.

Hello DrOctagon,
I'm not Canadian but, I do believe, the 5 year warranty only applies to the HD600. The details can be found on the HD600 product page on our website.

I suppose this is tangent to your discussion but I bought 4 pairs of hd280pro refurbs from ecost a little while back. One of them had a broken headband. I talked to ecost about that and they suggested I ship it back to them in the US with all shipping costs and duties on me.
Remembering that Sennheiser offers the same warranty on their refurbs as their new products, I shipped them off, with my billing info and return address, to Sennheiser Canada in Quebec. I expected to get charged for the repair but about a month later, I get them back fully repaired free of charge.
Don't know if that helps, good luck!
[edit]oops just read your post again, is this 5 years an extended warranty thing offered only to those who buy from authorized dealers?[/edit]

UPDATE
Okay Called Headroom and talked to Mario again today about the situation. He then told me to go to the HD600 page and click on "Click here for more information" link. Which brings you to another page and then you just click on "click here to register online". Then you fill out your information. It says for the HD600's but he said that's what i had to to. I'm at work right now so i don't have my serial number off my headphones and cannot register yet. I will update again when i get home to see if it worked.

Double Woah: I spent my early years age 2-17 in Weyburn. But then the rest of the world called starting in (drum roll) Saskatoon.
