AE Aegis Evo Speakers for hometeather

Hello, I heard AE in a home video store and I'm pretty impressed because it sounds similar to Paradigm and Bowers and Wilkins $2000 ones. And the AE are $500. I can feel the differencce and isn't that different. I would like Paradigm or Bowers And Wilkins, but my mom and dad wants not that large stuff in the hometeather room that will be as a living room too. So Aegis Evo 3 and tall but slim and simply rocks. I guess that for make the complete speaker set I would take AEGIS EVO CENTRE and AEGIS EVO SUB but the problem is the rears. I need something that is small. In this package, do I have to take other floor standing or can I take the AEGIS EVO 1 bookshelf speaker for the rears? Any thoughs? I would use a Rotel Receiver.

I think the Aegis Evo 1 should be fine for rears since the sub will be handling the bass. The Evo 1's are good speakers in their own right. I heard them a few years ago and they need brighter electronics like the Rotel to get a little more detail out of them. I think you have a good match.

The EVO1's are excellent value for money.Very smooth and laid back and musical. The ones i heard were paired with a 35W Rotel.

Awesome, thanks people. I will use a Rotel Receiver. Well, I will get this combo if my dad accepts. :

Edit: Another question, if someday I get a Rotel AMP, it would be dangerous for the speakers and if not would it sound really much better?

I have not heard the current AE Aegis Evo 1, but the first Aegis One was an awesome speaker.

Are you planning on using the current receiver as a preamp/processor only? It shouldnt be a problem. Make sure you have enough power to all channels.

Rotel amps are known to have a high current output and HUGE spontaneous Power output. The 35 Watters had a max of 90W i think. They are also very neutral. No color here. What you should hear is what you hear.No jiucy smooth bassy sound.Totally neutral.
