So do you guys think I should spend $550 for the UE5c or $280 for the UM2? Yes, money is an important factor

I'm getting very close to ordering some too

Mine weren't even close to fitting. I'm gonna try one more time and then it's a refund for me. (Oh please oh please, I hope they fit) I put the dental wax on them to build up the stem and they fit wonderfully. Great sound, great isolation. I'm not so sure if it's worth about $800(what ive spent so far), but they do sound great.

You spent $800 on the UE5c ??

Can I reply twice (5c and 10Pro)?
Actually, I will say I had 2 refits, but probably because of the influence of all of you. They were great out of the box and went to better. The first refit was really needed, as the stem was too long for me. The second was a tweek for seal.

I have to admit, UE has been great about all this.

hmmm, didn't you find um2 to bassy for your taste ?

From what I know, the ue5c have more bass and you should maybe think twice before buying it because you can´t sell it like um2.

I don't have UE custom IEMs but I do have custom IEMs and I'm convinced that your audiologist is a very important part of the fit process. I've traded emails with a couple of people that bought from Westone and had a very poor fit, even after a remold.

Well I am new at this game but I got my 10s yesterday. They have a good seal I think when I am walking. But I got them for working out. So when I went on the cadio machine one ear made a sight poping noise. Not sure what that was. (water in the canal, I had this sometimes with the e5s) So at this point in time I am not sure. If I don't do any intense movements the fit is fine. Just if I am going all out there is this noise. And Actually I can't hear it all the time. Only between songs or when the volume is really low. Anyways before I make any decisions, I am going to bring them to gym some more.

BTW.. I can't imagine UE tuned up the bass on the UE-5 being there is so much there on the 10s.

As far as your ear canal goes.. if I am not mistaken a notched canal is easiler and more common and makes for a better fit then a straight canal. Some people are just going to have a hard time getting a good fit in general due to the shape of there canal.

If the sound quality/fullness diminishes slightly after the pop...then it is the seal coming loose. I have had this be noticeable when my ears are sweaty...the moisture gives you excellent seal, but it is easily broken when you move around. Usually, it will quickly restore it's seal since the moisture is still in there.

This is an indicator that your UE's are still a little loose. I have chosen to live with mine because the comfort is excellent for now...

Well my take is that I am going to be keeping them. Since that time I had less issues with these noises at the gym. And when walking around, sitting, eating, talking there is almost never an issue. Actually just when I was all out running there was an issue. I do think that is possible for sweat to get between the UE-10 and ear canal. And when I really get going I can hear my pulse in my ears. So there isn't going to be a perfect solution. But anyways, I am perfect damn happy. So I will still be watching things for the next few weeks but I don't think I will send them back.

I think these slight popping noises while running, etc. and sweating heavily are simply unavoidable and don't necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with your fit. This happens to me occasionally and I don't pay it any mind at all. I did just buy UE's $8 dry-out container just to make sure that sweat doesn't wreck the earpieces over time, but I'm sure they'd be fine without it (they've lasted over a year of hard gym/running use already).
