UE Fit Survey - Did yours fit?

Given the recent rash of people having fit problems with their ultimate ears, I was wondering if this was a common occurrence, or if it was just a case of the few with problems speaking out. UE claims the refit rate is low, but it seems that everyone is having to send them back.

So, please vote and set the record straight.

edit: If you don't fit into one of those categories, please explain below. Sorry for no 'other' option.

Mine were fitting 95% perfectly. I got the remaining 5% fixed during a repair recast, but I could have lived happy forever with the initial fit (which is what I described in my review, btw).

You should do a Sensaphonics poll also. Good to know both...

Mine are an excellent fit with no discomfort but they don't isolate as well as they should so I've been told (by fellow head-fi'ers) that the stems probably need to be thickened a bit with an extra coat or two of acrylic. I suppose if ever I make it to Vegas, I'll stop in to make a pest of myself and see if they can do a quick fix on the spot.

Mine fit like, well -- like they were MADE for me! No problems or complaints whatsoever, right out of the Heavy Metal Box.

Then again, the audiologist told me I had textbook-perfect straight ear canals.

And here I always thought my best asset was my -- oh, never mind!

Perfect fit from the get go. I was the first to own them here on Head-Fi and they have been a true blessing.

Still waiting...

I'm still waiting for the results of my second refit. I am keeping my fingers crossed as this is a pretty friustrating and long experience. I hope it is worth it in the end!

Perfect fit from day one. Great isolation and incredibly comfortable.

Many many refits. UE was great all the while. They are not perfect now....but I can live with them (the isolation is not as good as I would like, but they seal well enough to give me the proper sound quality).

I was sure I'd need a refit. So sure that I opened them up carefully, figuring I'd listen to them for a day or two, then pack them back up to ship back for the refit. But when I stuck them in my ears, I was shocked to realize they fit perfectly. No amount of jaw movement would break the seal.

I had to get mine refit. It took them 2 in a half weeks to get them back to to me. Still do not think it is perfect, but I can live with them. They do not isolate like a thought they would. Overall I guess I'm a little disapointed. I may give Senaphonics a try in a year or so.

UE guarantees their fit, so I don't see the point of "just living with them." You paid a lot of money for these, so why settle for a fit that's less than perfect? Keep trying or get new molds done... it's ludicrous to be dissatisfied with the fit for no reason other than the inconvenience.

Really thinking of getting the UE5c, this post is kinda helpful. But i think i'm going to go there and getting Noy (UE's audiologist) to shoot the impression for me. Jetlag said he did it really well for his UE10.

So do you guys think I should spend $550 for the UE5c or $280 for the UM2? Yes, money is an important factor

I think that whenever I upgrade my IEM I will go with the UE-hybrid. I looks like best one for me. then hopefully I could get rid of some ohter cans to fund them.
