Are there aftermarket headbands for Grado headphones?

I was wondering if there are aftermarket headbands availible for my Grado SR80. I tried an RS-1 a few days ago from a guy I know and the headband on his Grado seemed much more refined and abit cushy too compared to the lower model's stiff pseudo-leather headband.

I dont think that there are grado pads but you could always get a beyerdynamic DT770 headband

I am not sure how much they cost or where to get them but they just snap on and off. takes about 10-15 seconds to put on and take off

HI: I did a search for the beyer headband that you could have done. LOL.

The headband just snapps over the Grado or alessandro headband and gives you a nice chusson between the headband and the beyer headband. Very easy to put on and cost about 12.00

It doesn't quite fit the RS-1's though.

Does the headband do anything to relieve pressure on the ears (I know about stretching the headband, but the flats are still a bit uncomfortable with glasses)?

As Zoide stated, they Beyer pad does not fit over the headband on RS-1 (and MSPro, RS-2, and PS-1). It just isn't wide enough. Alternatively, one could get a headband for SR-60/80/125/225 and switch that with the one on RS-1. Of course, getting a Grado headband is bit difficult since Grado doesn't just sell headband.

HI: If you need headband for the RS-1 or one that the beyer headband don't fit then there is the Sennheiser headband that I used to super glue or velcro to those cans. Again do a search for the Grado Sennheiser headband. Call sennheiser at 1-860-434-9190 and tell them the headband is not on the site but in the warehouse. The Sennheiser 490 headband $8.90

Sorry to ask again, but can anyone tell me if the aftermarket headband does anything to relieve pressure on the ears when wearing flats with glasses?

MKAL, I own a pair of SR60s and bending the headband did relieve a lot of pressure. But if you wear glasses I think you're SOL because the headphones will always have to have *some* pressure on/around your ears thus will always press your glasses against your head. You might want to consider in-ear earphones if the Grados are still really bad for you after stretching the headband (which I found to be all the adjustment needed).

I've never had the flats on my Grado, but I've used the bowls (when I auditioned the 80 and 125 along with the 60s which I ended up buying) and they did get uncomfortable. Maybe the 414 mod pads are the way to go? I put those on my 60s and am happy with it. I wear my sunglasses on occasion w/ the 414/60 combo and it's fairly comfy, but I never wear my sunglasses for an extended period of time like you would w/ prescription glasses.

Good luck!
