what do we think of Kimber Kable? - Page 2

Put the expensive stuff on the main left and right channels and the el cheapo lower end cables on your surround channels. The limitations already inherent, some by design, in the multichannel part of the system are not of a high enough resolution to give a crap about how much you spent on their cabling.

BTW-bang for buck Kimber is hard to beat and their lower end cables are better than a lot of upscale offerings from other manufacturers, they just leave out all the pretty frills some seem to like even though having not zip to do with sound quality

I've been using Kimber 8PR for about 6 or 7 years. I really noticed the improvement over the heavy gauge twisted-pair cable that it replaced. If you look at the RCL figures on the Kimber website, the cheapest cables are better in some respects than some of the higher-priced products. At least Ray shows his commitment to his products and customers by posting the information for the world to see. Not many manufacturers even have the capability to properly test their materials and finished products the way Kimber does.
I use 2 x 25' of 8PR in an internal biwire configuration between a McIntosh MC 7270 and a pair of Joseph Audio RM25si with the Mk.II crossover upgrade. Great cable, good sound. I don't feel any rush to change the cable, even if I could afford it.
If you are running short lengths of cable it doesn't really matter much what you use.
