I love your Dynahi too, even for the few short minutes I was able to hear it. Philodox, what options did you get with that sweet amp?

I'd love to, but I'd have nowhere to stay and don't really want to lug all my crap onto a bus or plane anyways.

The EC is their 'lower end' dynahi. I suppose it stands for 'economy' or something like that. Anyways, my EC is pretty close to a SA when you factor in the upgrades.

The only differences between my amp and a SA amp is that mine does not have the preamp functionality[actually there is no preamp fonctionality in the SA, what I meant to say is that mine does not have the multiple inputs and source selector], has the cosmos RV24 instead of a DACT and has a slightly less overdone power supply. I got all of the upgrade options that I could on it except for the stepped attenuator. [Reason being that I already have one] As you can see, I also got the neutrik combo jack. There were also some revisions to the PCB and heatsinks that Veda Audio graciously gave me with no price increase since my order came in at the time of the revisions.

I went with the standard gain setting as this was perfect for my K340's at the Chicago meet... and a green LED.

Jason: How did you get the pics? My Dynahi SA is on its way to gs along with yours, but I didn't get any pics.

You were probably less of a pain in the ass than I was.

I've been bugging gsferrari nearly every day with questions and requests for pictures. Veda Audio sent me the pics a couple days ago, but I dont check my gmail account often and didnt see them.

I just can't get over how friendly the people at Veda Audio are. I've never met a company that is so 'aim to please'.

Actually the SA doesn't have any pre-amp functionality either.

Maybe preamp functionality was the wrong way to put it... what I meant was the multiple inputs and source selector.

Thanks Kurt,

You're Dynamight is what made me go for it... that is also where I got the idea to use the neutrik combo jack. [I think it looks great on both of our amps]

Sweet looking amp. Can't wait to read your thoughts once you've had a chance to listen.

Yeah, I will try to write a semi-coherent review once it has a chance to burn in and when my CD Player arrives. I will probably wait until early May so that I can familiarize myself with the gear.

I've been thinking about this and I don't want it to be a review of my new source [or at least I would like to keep my source comments separated somewhat]. I think I will construct the review as follows:

I will listen to an album that I am familiar with on the six following setups:
mp3 player+flute+k271
mp3 player+flute+dynahi+k271
mp3 player+flute+k340
mp3 player+flute+dynahi+k340
eastsound+dynahi+k271
eastsound+dynahi+k340

That will take a while though, so I had better make it an EP instead of an album. [maybe the new Iron & Wine one]

I will write down my impressions for all of them and then do some more critical listening to pick out bass [there is a tori amos track that is good for this], treble [paganini violin concerto] and midrange [jazz guitar maybe?].

Then come the conclusions and of course a bunch of pics.

Any ideas how I could make this format better?
