Rightio. Thanks for not ditching us GS-1 users wink.gif.

Excuse my ignorance. What will be the difference between the "Dynalo+" and a GS-1 or GS-X using the new modules?

Power output.

Same as always.  Balanced GS-X and unbalanced GS-1 connections.

Also the power supply and case.  And price ;)

power output is higher, both in current and voltage, which will also mean lower distortion in nearly every usage.

the noise floor is already pretty much as low as you can get, so no opportunity for improvement there

and i'm way past the BS of "This is the new module that sounds like a tube amp" so there's not much else to do.  This is why it took so long for me to release an upgraded module.  I wanted it to actually be an upgrade.

Thank you for the clarification. Higher current and voltage was exactly what I wanted to know about.

Isn't that the same as more power - in general?

ideally yes but because of the very wide range of headphone impedances (10 to 600 ohms) you really need to talk about current and voltage separately or at least have power specified into several different common impedances (such as 8, 16, 32, 60, 120, 300, 600 ohms)  With this latest design, the new Gilmore module in the new GS-X is possibly the most powerful amp you can get and still get incredible results with IEMs or other very sensitive headphones, while being able to use it for harder to drive headphones like the HE-6 or AKG K1000.  Most other amps with high power output suffer from a higher noise floor that's noticeable with IEMs or they have high levels of distortion when they're outputting low power.

Yea, hence the power output is more. I wanted to know because of different headphones though

Edit: Justin got ya the answer.

Ummmm excuse me, not trying to derail the thread but we have to talk. Let me first introduce myself, I'm DigitalFreak but everyone on here calls me DF, nice to meet you prep, Hope you don't mind me calling you prep. We seem to have a bit of a problem here my friend in that I'm seeing double "cough avatar cough" Shall we settle this like gentlemen with our best headphones at 20 paces in the head-fi parking lot?

Amplifier manufacturers should have to rate amp output in volts, not watts.  Rating in watts is misleading.
