Today is wiki picture day fellas. Find em in ludoo search or take some fresh ones and up them to the wiki. If you wanna be super lazy you can just do that much and I'll shove em in the articles for ya.

God no, not *that* kind of app Just something with proper fields for manufacturing year, etc. a feed of new aentries, and reader's comments. Then adding ebay (and HF) auctions tracking would be a snap. Err, let's say easier.

I'm not sure I understand, you can't do like "yh* = hp*" or something? Or would you have to go through it model by model?
Right. I have to define a list of aliases. But it's a separate file, so I can easily build it on all variants (something like from zero to three zillions repat: YH<number>=HP<number>). But then they're not too many, 1/2/3 and a few others, so it's like ten rows or so.

Argh. Also, @#$%! It's not easy to blow out one of these drivers. You have to really work at it.

Time to get the Mosquito bombers in the air.. I suggest air support with De Havilland Vampires and of course Gloster Meteors..

If this guess is correct, repair is impossible. More fair to say that it would be so difficult that simply getting another HP-3 variant would be by far the simpler course.....
Dammit, paypal BOMBS AWAY!!! well im on the mission of finding a HP-3 variant now, and also maybe a replacement driver for the broken HP-50S I have now. I cleaned half of the parts in water with a bit of bleach, and they are nice an fresh now.
It took me over half an hour to remove the sticky tape left by the pads using my finger nails!

Interesting. I can't quite picture what this would be though, how do you get the manufacturing years out of the thread with a script, that's some serious voodoo.

Make sure you only track finished auctions, I got too much competition as it is .

They look good to me! An inside and outside would be helpful. Just up everything you got if you want, I'm not too worried about having too many pictures.

I would start by updating your logo

But seriously you can never have too many pics.

Oh ya! I cannot photoshop or draw or anything, so someone with talent will have to do that.

Just so yall know you add pictures to the wiki by first uploading them here. Then, well I already wrote it down here. C'mon, bust your wiki cherries already! It only hurts the first time .

Ludoo: click the top edit button, not the one over tech specs, unless that's all your editing.

It took me some time to figure it out, had to resort to the help page.

Ack! I have too much to do already..

I promise I'll make some entries later along with a bunch of illustrated how-to's with lots of photos.

I think he just meant the logo, lil 100x100 picture. You're making headphones for half the forum so I guess that's a valid excuse

At least the weekend is coming up and hopefully I can get some stuff done.

Ok I uploaded a bunch of HP-50S photos, and linked them to the HP-50 page. I also wrote a small paragraph at the top, because it didnt fit into any of the pre assinged headings. Hope thats ok.
yamaha page i edited
edit: well if its not ok just delete it lol.

What's clear to me now is that the self noise of the amp is coming through really loud (essentially tweeter hiss). Even if I EQ in a reasonable frequency balance, the noise is pretty ridiculous. I put a 4.8 ohm resistor in line with the driver, and that helped... so maybe next I'll try using a few of those.

I did try my old Pioneer receiver, but it's pretty noisy to begin with.

What confuses me is, I used these same amps with Stax headphones and they were quiet.

What I recall about the discussion of digital amps and headphones is that the high frequency switching noise can cause artefacts down into the audible spectrum and the filters which extract the amplified audio signal are not perfect, leaving some ultra high frequency noise behind.

I am no tech expert in this field but have steered clear of digital amplification (class D) as a result, for headphones at least..dB

i have the same problem with my jecklins; some amps are dead silent with my stax but noisy as hell with the floats.
i guess they are just to sensitive.

how does the neo3 sound aside from the noise; do they have any potential as headphone drivers?
