I mean the drivers are made already so i got them installed in HE-500 body and the official release is waiting for their own cables and body to be done.

Too bad i can't really compare them with Hifimans or LCDs reason being i don't have them nor i can audition them. All i can say right now is that after my HD650 these are speed monsters. And they're power hungry too, more so then He-500 as i heard.

Interesting. What are your impressions and comparison to HD-650?

Do you have the specs?

Do you have pictures of the diaphragm?

Thanks for sharing this.

Sorry, but i was a very random purchaser of these headphones and totally in the dark regarding specs, acted on pure interest for orthos and the fact they russian orthos (I'm Russian). Roman (the MySt director) said the specs will come out when they're up for sale and i haven't seen pictures of the diaphragm.

What i can say about the difference between HD650 and Izophones is that the latest is much more detailed and fast across the whole spectrum, some agressive and fast genres are fully controled with no mute or distortions.

I think the diaphragm is similar to TDS7

Actually asked Roman and he said the diaphragm is more similar to Hifiman in 30s (isodynamic model) but with it's on special traits and also there is a plan for orthos too with diaphragm almost twice bigger ~

I take it that the final phone will be +500g?

It's a shame that almost alll neo orthos(apart from the T50RP) are so heavy, AKG wrote in the k1 brochure(available on wikiphonia) that an ortho design with neo magnets would be too heavy. The 290g YH-100 is my top limit and it's got a Bellini dual-headband that balances the weight.

The PM2 should be less than 390g and that's already pushing it, I see that the LCD-XC is 650g and comes with a miserable single headband.....so that means that to some ppl comfort doesn't matter and that they are willing to wear such heavy phones for several hours straight?

I read audiophile cables makers claiming that headphones cables were too thin for their own good but that it was all about compromises, if weight is no object I guess the next logical upgrade for a 650g phone is two über-shielded garden hoses

So how are those pads attached I thought they were stuck behind the baffles and in the seam, any ideas?

Off to see what the MYST BA iem was/is. Thanks for that post.

Still waiting for Philips to get with the game and make us all cheap portables.

Looked like the pads on mine were after market but they were attached behind the baffles.

Finished transplanting the drivers in momentus clone. Sound wise results are very good without much modding effort. Clean ortho sound, very good soundstage( I guess because of pads). Vocals are best part.

What drivers are those again?

BTW, B&H got pretty cool sheepskin $30 earpads: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?sts=ma&Ns=p_PRICE_2|0&setNs=p_PRICE_2|0&N=0&srtclk=sort&Ntt=Leather+Earpads
