Orthodynamic Roundup - Page 1007

I just realised that the 4 orthos that I have come to really love have very different driver design.

 

Fostex T50RP, Audeze LCD-2, Wharfedale ID1 and the Yammy Yh-1000. The real standouts even in this group are the ID1 and the LCD-2.

I just scored a pair of Sansui SS-100s today.  They are in almost perfect condition and sound very good....

Nice Kevin....the portland meet is shaping up nicely. Been wanting to listen to the Sansui for ever actually.

Not having ever seen one IRL I think those maybe the ultimate expression of the early 80s ortho design. 

They just look the part of a great headphone and I've assumed the sound matches.

Nice score.

Thanks, I can't imagine any company making a nicer or better executed orthos in that day.  Right now I am listening to them through the Mini-Watt N3 w/ Mini-Watt headphone Adapter.  The sound has to be heard to be believed!  I would bet that nobody realized back in that day how good these headphone were capable of sounding.

Its a secret which is openly discussed on this thread but still remains a secret.

Those headphones are the wrost sounding/looking Orthos of out of all the vintage ones. Send it to me and I will properly dispose of it for you.
