I'm still curious as to how much the Pro differs from the Premium. I read comments about "DT880" that don't seem to accord with my Pro, so that I wonder if they refer to the Premium and there's a noticeable difference. I'd certainly expect the tighter clamping to increase bass due to a better seal, but also the driver is closer to the ear. I doubt if the different lead would make any difference. We know the drivers, housing and damping are the same. Anybody ever done an A/B on the Premium and Pro 250 ohm (and I don't mean just pushing the Premium harder against your ear)?

Good point, still I'm really loving my dt 880s right now, listening to a BRAND new OST [that I had in mp3] well I went out and purcahsed the CD from Japan [Us reseller thankfully] and OMG WOW
Flac vs mp3... flac TRASHES mp3. I've heard subtle differances before but SHEESH
there is also the fact that this ost is potentially a [OMG I've never HEARD THAT detail before :D] anyways, the ost may be an incrediably cheap rip off the wii disc, and I'm sure that disc has some compressed sound on it...

For you guys who have tried both, is there anything you like about the DT770's better than the DT880's? I got the DT770's because I wanted closed headphones, but then I ran into a couple of deals on the AKG K550's and Ultrasone Pro 900's. So now I have both a bass heavy and bass light closed set, and I'm thinking of getting rid of the DT770's. I do love the comfort, though, and find them great for movies, so maybe I wouldn't miss them if I replaced them with DT880's?

I have the DT770-80 and the DT880-250 and the 880 has a bigger sound stage, everything is so much more clean sounding. Very crisp and not muffled, like what you may hear when going from the 880 to the 770. My dt880 Premium are much more comfortable than my 770 pros. The padding in the velour ear pads is softer, and the headband isnt as tight on premiums.

Thanks! Do they work well for movies? I think the bass emphasis on the DT770-80's works well for that, but it's possible that the advantages of the dt880's easily make up for that.

The bass is still very present, its enough for me and I like bassy music. It sounds like it extends a little lower than the 770s too.

Excellent. Glad to hear they sound good to you; with the way some people talk about the DT880's you'd think that the 600 Ohm version is the only one that sounds good. They're kind of a pain to find...

I bought one, listened.... and instantly bought 2 more.
Thinking about selling the DT990/600s tho. I prefer the DT880s... but must collect them all....
