Need Receiver for...

Guys, i've been looking either for a receiver, or amp for 2 bookshelves (Energy Encore 2). Unfortunately, I dont have a lot of money to spend...University student budget
I'd like some suggestions, and also places where to get/order from. I'm in Toronto... so... if its local, its a plus

Look on ebay for an old Sansui 4000 or 6060. The Pioneer SX838 or SX939 models are good also. The receivers from the 70s were expectionally well made and many sound terrific. I am particularly fond of the Sansui models. The 4000 is 45W x 2 channels, has a four gang analog tuner, and can be purchased for less $100. In addition it looks very sweet with its green tuning dials.
