Good mini-1/4" adapter?

I have a radio shack one now and sometimes I have to wiggle it to get the right channel to come in properly. Lately I no longer have to wiggle, but the right channel *seems* weaker than the left, esp. in the highs. So basically I'm willing to spend on a 'premuim' connector here, considering that even a premium one is what, like $10? So what do you recommend?

Thanks,

can you solder?

Yes I can, but I'd prefer an all-in-one connector than a 'dongle' though I heard Cardas was making a 1/8-1/4 adapter some time ago, are those anywhere to be found?

Thanks,

the channel cut off is probably due to uneven ring placement. If you spin the plug and it cuts in and out, thats because the ring is have an intermittent problem, the signal only connects when the ring touches the recepter and if its not made perfectly in line with the tip and ground you get right channel cut off ever time the ring doesnt touch the recepter. look closely at the the plugs middle ring and turn it 360 degrees inspecting if its uneven.

its a common problem with cheaper minis. when ever I assemble a cable, continuity and intermittency tests are the first things done. and before I even think of using a plug I inspect the ring. Ive learned the hard way and had to trash a perfectly good mini because of intermittence.
