Just checked Xin's website and found he has updated the website for SM3. There's even a promotion for the first month - get 2XBUF634 soldered on board for free

Umm, I think that page is referring to the 2.0 version. It still says it's "a true dual-mono design" ...

No, it clearly says "SuperMacro 3" and "Separated and buffered (stackable) 3 channels (L, R and Ground)".

The question now is what do I do with my SuperMacro V.5?
Slowly but surely, I just wanna know how much it's gonna cost to jump from V 1.0 to V 3.0, cuz I'm ready to slap that thing in the mail and send it back to Xin RIGHT NOW, and get those upgrades rollin'!!!

umm, guys - I just noticed this.

If you add the sockets for OPAMPS and BUFs, you cannot have the four feature switch upgrade. It's one or the other ...

edit: another thing, he's made it so you cannot change the OPAMP in the ground channel, after all ... He says there's very little difference sonically ... It sounds like this is more a version 2.5 than the version 3 he talked about in the forums ...

no, if you read it again (I was confused about that...)... OPAMP SOCKETS are standard.... if you want to OPAMP AND Buffer sockets, you can't get the 4 switches.

I did e-mail him about it, and I was really hoping for 3x opamp sockets :/

Excellent, I totally missed that!! Thanks for pointing it out!!

I don't need BUF sockets, I just want 2x soldered on - but I definately want to keep the four switches ... Looks like I can!

I think the OP/BUF socketed version is for professional users who pursue the purest possible sound. After all, the four fancy features might add colors to music and 2000uf is almost overkilled. The OP in Ground has little impact on sound quality, if Not there's no impact at all. I would love to get one with L/R OP sockets, 4400uf, and 2XBUF634 soldered. So far, I only got a pair for each type of OPAMPs; if I go with a socket for Ground OP, I would have to get another one for each type of OPAMPs I have.

What do you mean "professional users"? You mean someone will pay me to listen to music?

Erikzen, please let me know if there's a more appropriate word What I mean is those who pursue the purest possible sound and don't like to add any "color" to music
