coupling caps are for tube amps. i didn't see any tube on the pictures of that tx2.
I see these are used to tweak the low frequency sound. Your version might have better low frequency responce, tighter bass. |
SXT-2 is a SS amp.

looks quite nice. If the cooling fan is used to cool the transistors or mosfets, it's in favour of active cooling. I just made a custom active cooling system for my modded amp and it makes a huge difference.
I see there is some room to furhter enhance the amp. Hmm, i see the mosfets/transistors screwed to the bottomplate at the left and right near the parallel caps. That's why he's using a huge cooling system as bottomplate, to dissapate the heat of the transistors/mosfets. I am baffled as to why he is using active cooling in that particular place, since the transistors are not even close to the cooling system. Ah, i see, the fan sits there to actively cool the massive bottom heatsink. it was much betetr to put 2 cooling fans above the 2 x2 parallel transistors/mosfets. Direct, active cooling has huge impact on sound. I would change the white caps for oils or teflon caps, they are in parallel. It will considderably improve sound quality. powersection looks very decent though, i see elna cerafine's and black gates? Overall very decent. If the amp is biased in class a, you would have at least 8-10 watts of pure class a power; with high efficiency speakers say above 90db, you could have a nice rig. |
SXT2 is in Class-A, the heatsink is become warm(not hot) last night.|
How can we go about making this thing available to the HeadFi crowd without jumping through a ton of hoops?
edit : too everyone that is concerned about the noise of the fan, if it is loud, I'm sure it could be replaced with a top of then line unit relatively easy. |

I will write a short review later, but English is a pain to me.

Is there something hiding under that fan? Which direction is the air moving. Into the picture or out?

look like there's not much of chance of getting this product oversea,
according to this thread by the creator of this amp on : http://www.erji.net/read.php?tid=126...toread=&page=1 it seem like it's a one man company. to order people have to line up in the queue, and even their order are accepted, the waiting period is 2 months. i just pm the designer, asking if he can ship oversea to australia |
