Loose mini clickwheel

Oh dear,

I had a wee accident at a train station the other day and dropped my 1st gen iPod mini. It was in a silicone case and only fell from my pocket but, the clickwhell jamed slightly upwards so that the play/ pause button wouldn't work.

After fiddling around with it I got the wheel centered again, but it is a little bit loose. The center button makes a loud, audible click sound now and is also slightly loose. I wonder if it will get worse?

It seems to work fine, but I'm not happy with it. Does anyone have a similar experience? Can I get tis fixed or repaired. It is still under the 1 year (?) warranty.

user fault, drops arent under the apple warranty i dont think. thats why they sell the "drop warranty". just say that you pressed the button and it stuck there, apple sells plenty of the things i dont think they'll be too hurt if they have to fix/replace yours for free.

It only fell about 3-ft and was incased an Icewear cover. It seemed to fall on it's 'back', yet the scroll wheel jammed. Very strange.

Basically I'm just trying to gauge whether they would fix / replace it. No harm in trying I guess. I'll give them a call tomorrow.
