DT-990 Pro vs AKG240DF vs MDR-CD900ST

The 240DF and CD900ST seem to be the most popular for mixing/mastering records. However, the 990 Pro seems to offer a good flat response too.

The 880 seems to be more suited for classical musical, I mix Metal and Rock records.

I need a LOUD and accurate set of cans. Amp is no trouble. Open or closed, I don't care as long as it's not Sennheiser, they don't handle power well and fart out.

What is your advice?

Unfortunately, the K240DF does not get very loud from most mixers, either.

This isn't a problem.

Either I'll use my 36V custom made headphone amp based around the OPA2134 chip, or I'll hook the cans directly to a 100W integrated receiver.

That should bring enough volume level. Even at 600 ohms, 18V peak will give the 240DF a run for their money (270mW)...and I'm not even talking about the 100W receiver that can literally FRY those!

Can you offer me advice on accuracy of sound please, since you seem to have experience with the 240DF ? Thanks

CD900ST is loud, forwarded and detailed. Sound stage is shallow.
This headphone is more suitable for checking the detalis than listening to overall for mixing/mastering. (Speakers are more suitable for that, by the way.)

It's hard to describe but it's a bright and bassy headphone with enhanced mids, feels like frequency response has peaks in every frequency range.

Durable, and almost all the parts are replacable.
