What about Team Don't Care?

Generally speaking, tube amps as a whole have a particular sonic character as do solid state amps. After enough auditioning, one type will manifest itself as a favorite.

For example, you probably enjoy eating vanilla and chocolate ice cream, but over a period of time one flavor gets ordered more often than the other. That would be your generally preferred flavor, or "Team" in this case.

The qualifier of "generally speaking" is a must. Very few Head-Fi'ers are willing to limit themselves enough to declare "I ONLY listen to one type of amp". That's too constrained. I may eat chocolate ice cream most of the time, but sometimes I just gotta try something different.

In my case, that "something different" is going to be a Corda HA-1!

Tubes. I know they're in the Melos, I can hear them. Just wish I could see them.

Tubes!

I missed tubes the first time around and grew up with dysfunctional solid-state gear. I plan on listening to tube gear the rest of my life to make up for that.

WTF Nick ?

Whaddabout team hybid ?

That is the fence I sit on the most.My mosfet headphone amp is due to get a tube front end (poor mans melos ?),my present preamp is tubes but I buffer the tape out with jfets and the phono stage is outboard-also jfet (the pas phono stage is too dull ,though istill use it with some selections)
My power amp are a combination of tube and SE mosfet
FM tuner is tubed.

GO TEAM HYBRID

But of course the pretty glowing tubes

I remember with warmth and fondness, the glow of the tube. I also remember the PITA of microphonics, hums and buzzes, and rolling tubes, etc.

I belong to TEAM neutral, TEAM natural, not TEAM euphonic.

Sometimes that can be OTL/tubes, but more often it means SOTA solid state.

Happy Listening!!
