i just popped in my new copy of Some Cities by the Doves for the first time, and it is staticy and generally slightly distorted in the more complex parts of the songs. i don't think that this is a new musical direction for them, and it sounds bad, so my guess is that it wasn't intentional. does anyone else with the disc have this problem? my guess is that the cause is probably crappy mastering as opposed to a problem with my disk, but i wanted to make sure...
