I don't have the CD yet, but I dL'ed it a few weeks ago, and I am quite happy with it. That said, if you mainly like only one phase of JP's career, you won't like every song. Some sound more like Sad Wings, British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance, Painkiller, etc. The songs really do span the range of the band's career. Rob is certainly the most effective member on this albums (suprise, suprise), though Glenn and KK do well to rekindle the old-school magic lost in the Ripper albums (and arguably since Defenders...).

I like the epic Lochness a lot, however it could have been a few miinutes shorter, still delivered the message, and been a bit less labored (this coming from a huge Dream Theater fan, so I have nothing against long songs). My favorite song on the album so far is the ballad "Angel," which I love for the passion in Rob's delivery (takes me back years), and the overall ambience of the song. If I had to pick a weaker song, it'd be "Revolution" which is in the vein of "United," though a bit less cheesy. There are some real speed burners (Hellrider, Demonizer), and some classic mid-paced songs (Judas Rising, Deal With the Devil).

It's not a career defining album the way some of theirs have been, but the band has done a great job recapturing everything that I love about Judas Priest. The diverse nature of the songs is unlike any album they've put out, and quite interesting in that regard. I'd grade it an 8.5/10.

I downloaded it too. going to get it today. It'll be the 1st Priest I've bought since "Turbo Lover". I think it's a great sounding record. Halford is amazing. The last song about Loch Ness has some very embarassingly lame lyrics though.

Iron Dreamer stole the words right from me. Getting an "advanced copy", Revolution being the low point, etc. It was everything a band like Judas Priest needed in a comeback album: they've shown the world that they aged very well. There's nothing here that'll blow you away, but many of these songs on this album would've fit perfectly on Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller. Highly recommended for Priest fans.

Theres write protection on the disk??

I had no problems

Hmmm....seems like an average album...but I still haven't given it a proper listen, so maybe it will grow on me.

On the plus side though it was only $14
so I decided to pick up "A Change of Seasons" and replace the mp3 copy I have.

I've only heard a few of the songs, but holy crap! The true Judas Priest is back, and I couldn't be happier.

Good decision. Easy for me to say that, considering that's my favorite song LD
