want to cut my e3c cable shorter...

i just brought a shure e3c and i realize the cable is way too long for flash mp3 player hanging on your neck, it has great sound but sometimes i dont use it because is too long, if you tie it up it feels even heavier than the mp3 itself and pretty ugly........

anybody try cutting it to make it shorter? any instruction or photo you can show me?

maby wrapping a rubber band around the excess would be more efficient?
dont you think that cutting your headphone is a ittle excessive?
