Audigy 4 Pro and Audigy 2 Value Bit Accurate Playback?

"Bit-Accurate Playback which supported for Audigy4 Pro and Audigy2 Value only is not able to be hacked."

I have Audigy 2 Value card, bought it for games.

Check my screen shot 1 : http://kotisivu.dnainternet.fi/kaivol/sc1.png. When the "Bit accurate Playback is enabled the udial.ape plays very nice and clean; I have to put the amp extremely loud to hear very small quiet high-pitched bawling in the very last part of the sound clip. If I listened music with those dB the loudspeakers would crash in a second. Check also screen shot 2: http://kotisivu.dnainternet.fi/kaivol/sc2.png ; when I put 48k or 96k the sound still plays 44.1k mpc and mp3 files at 44.1k pcm (amp shows the kHz) when the Bit accurate playback (screen shot 1) is enabled. If the Bit accurate playback is not checked, the 48k and 96k work, too. Music sounds just great with 44.1k Bit accurate playback enabled. For listening I use Sony db-790 amp and Sony mdr580 headphones or amp + Amphion speakers

What do you think is happening? Do I get bit accurate playback or what? Av-710 is going to arrive quite soon, which I will use only for music. Both signals of the soundcards will go to amp with optical cable. But if you know the file udial.ape, I suppose it should play totally crisp and clear even if one's amp would be set 00dB if the sound would do simple pass-through without upsampling nor downsampling.

Weird thing is that I can't get Winamp play with asio plugin enabled; but Direct Sound plays fine BUT none of the mixers nor eax settings nor windows mixer settings nor volume settings work which I think tells that direct sound output with bit accurate playback enabled somehow acts like asio playback or kernel streaming??

Protip: Use Alt+PrintScreen to just take a screenshot of the current window. Either that, or crop your shots to just show the relevant info. PNG is great and all, but two 2mb+ images of your desktop with a tiny window in the center where the relevant information lies just seems damned silly to me.

I edited the shots.

All the folks on 56k out there thank you. Sorry I don't have any information to offer, as the last gaming card from Creative I bought was a Live back after they first came out.

I just played some avi and mpeg files and they all played with 44 or 48k depending of the sampling rate of the file! It really seems like this works!!

If this really works did I buy the av710 in vain as I use only digital pcm with both soundcards? I will now try the games if they work with Bit accurate playback.

Ok, I now tested games and some work fine but other will not. Mostly EAX3 and 2 problems when bit accurate playback is enabled. Some sounds just will not play. So if this really works like it seems one can't use it in games as it disables some hardware acceleration (winamp with ds with hw acceleration enabled music will not play at all!). I guess I will now install the av710 when it comes as it is easier to listen to music with Winamp with av710 than every time change the bit perfect to enabled when listening to music and disabled when playing games.

I guess my udial.ape is fine and THIS BIT PERFECT OUTPUT FOR AUDIGY 2 VALUE REALLY WORKS :

http://www5.head-fi.org/forums/archi...p/t-70836.html

"By the way, if your hearing is very good and you turn up the volume enough, you may also be able to hear a faint high-pitched sound (around 20kHz). This is normal.

The problem sounds, if they occur, are much more obvious."

No comments at all ? I think I just did a great discovery as there have been so much fuss about this Creative crabby resampling issue for years..

you should try doing a loopback test in RMAA to see the differences from using and not using the bit accurate output setting. I'd be curious to see the difference. And yes, this is good news, if you have a audigy 2 value.

Yes I will do that, should have sayed that before, but haven't done before so how should I do it? I downloaded RightMark Audio Analyzer 5.4 just should know how to use it. I just got postal receipt of my av710 so I will get it from the postal office today. I suppose I should have digital in in one of my soundcards? I think none of them has it..unless I used the spdif onboard connector of my ob soundchip 850. It should have spdif-in..

Or can I use analog out for the test? Simply a stereo 3.5mm plug from line out of A2 Value to line in of av710? With and without Bit Accurate Playback?

-edit- damn I did more listening tests with music and test signals comparing bit accurate playback on vs off and this must work as the difference is so audible. But I will do the RMAA tests today/tomorrow.

-edit 2- I realized that loop-back test is done with single soundcard line out-line in so I am even able to use just A2 value. Well I will do the tests and post back results today .

-edit 3- Damn it must be done with digital signal so I will run the signal to my onboard soundcard to the spdif of the motherboard as there is no digital in in A2 value nor av710. TODAY.

Damn, I can't test the loopback test as I didn't have the spdif input in my mobo either . Some one other must do the loop back test with pcm signal, but it seems for me that this really works.

Well, it's nice to know that there's finally an Audigy card I can recommend to my gamer friends! I'll still be grabbing an 0404, though .

Great news again -> the "Bit Accurate Playback" -setting works also on analog out, meaning I get clear good udial.ape and clear high quality sound output without asio winamp plugin resampling to 48k/96k/192k .
