I think same can be said for the ATH W100/W1000, when I first receive mine, I feel Grado SR60 is better until I hear the string instrument and voice. Interesting enought, the Koss KSC-35 also has the ability to make period instruments sound so well.

Grado Labs repaired mine for free, very impressed with their service.

I've had 4 pairs of
grado sr 60's at different times in my life and I loved every minute of it , then I sold my last pair and got some rs 1's. Now I wished I still had a pair of sr 60's to go along with my rs 1's because they are sooo much smother and less dynamic for a more casual listen when I am in the mood.

I've bought/modded/sold SR60's more than once, and I hope I've bought + modded for the last time. They are truly "fun" cans and a huge bargain. I consider them a "gateway drug" to this hobby of ours!

Got mines two weeks ago at about the same time as my ad700. Can't say they were very comfortable when I first put them on since I had to take them off 10mins later cause they were clamping so tightly. They are nice cans but right now they're not getting any listening time cause I'm enjoying the sound stage of my ad700 more. Now if they only combined the bass of the sr60 with the sound stage of the ad700 I'd be set.

I just got my very first pair of Grado's yesterday and ive been listening ever since. It takes a bit more juice to drive than the IEM's im used to. Just when i used to think Shure SE210's were great, these things are absolutely amazing.

Thanks for Head-Fi for this amazing recommendation. If it wasn't for the great comments, i would have never gotten it.

Well, I've gotta say... I bought a set of these for "portable" listening with my Zen Vision, and they've ended up ousting my HD555s in a total of... 27 hours. Absolutely amazing definition, and even though they're horribly overpriced in Canada ($105 CAD retail), I can't honestly say anything bad about them, except that the senns are much more comfortable for home listening. Thanks for everyone's reviews and recommendations!

I love my Grados! Had them for over a year now, and they continue to impress. They are also how I got exposed to Head-Fi; I wanted to get a set of decent headphones, and the SR-60 seemed like a solid choice. I also don't have any of the mentioned problems with comfort, leakage, or styling, so it works great for me.

If they clamp too hard, you can always just bend them out a little. You can shape the metal inside the headband anyway you want. If they become too loose, just bend them back so they're tighter.

Could you tell me where to buy this headphone if you want it shipped to Germany? Amazon.com doesn’t ship to Germany and the German resellers are way too expensive (~$200 for the SR60!!)..

Will buy them used then, I guess.

Europe sells the grados at prices that are pretty ridiculous (€100 for the SR-60)... so either buy used or get an Alessandro MS1 ($100 shipped worldwide)

Well the SR60 costs even more at a German reseller, but I’ll consider the Alessandro as a complement to my Senn.
