South Florida Spring Meet - Page 2

I confirmed that we will get some gear from Let There Be Sound for the meet. I am going to try and get him to lend me his Brinkmann integrated which has a real nice headphone out. I'm also going to try for a pair of Amphion Floor standers or his System Audio SA-2k's monitors. He also will give us use of his store and media room Sat. night.

Correction on the meet date. Saturday is April 9, 2005.

Ack hadn't checked into head-fi in too long I'm definitely in, probably not *quite* as in as last time but I'll drive up the morning of and come home evening of. I haven't even kept up with the Florida people's inventories, what new goodies do we have coming?

It will be great to see you Matt. Not quite sure what's coming yet. I will hopefully get some nice speakers from my friend's store. I also hope to borrow a bunch of nice vinyl. He has 1000's of albums for sale. There should be a better idea of gear as we get closer.

Hey guys..

It's been a loooong time since I checked back on head-fi.. been busy with work and my new wallet burning hobby - car audio

So, we have a meet in the offing !! Needless to say, I'll be there, and if nothing else, I'll be able to offer my high end car audio setup for audition.. Oh, boy !! I'm all excited..

Oh, and back on topic, it'd be great if we could have Ray, Fred and Mikhail attend this meet. I'm looking forward to hear the new Ack! dAck! v2 and Mikhail's new PCB-based amps, to compare them to their older versions.

Well, it's about time. Bring the car, we can pull in through the sliding glass doors in the back, after we remove part of the fence on the side of the house. I have dibs on your ms-pros if you sell them. .

I have a committment on a $5,000 Brinkmann integrated with a built in dac for the meet. The headphone out runs through the tube ouput stage and sounds sweet. I will probably have a Brinkmann phono stage and a Berenson cdp for people to checkout. There will also be a pair of $2500 System-Audio floorstanders. This will all be courtesy of Let There Be Sound. I may be able to get som AKG cans as he is considering becoming a dealer.

I'll drag over my Micromega Drive One transport and give that baby a job interview.

Stevieo's will come, I just have to bribe him with Chipotle Buritto Bucks. You can't resist, Steve, can you?

Gene, the Brinkmann is mine as soon as I have a spare $5,000. I am curious to see what you guys think of the headphone out.

I'll be at the meet but I want to basically hekp coordinate stuff and help in the planning and organization. I'll be the muscle guy if necessary...lets do this nice and big (not in terms of numbers but in terms of gear).

I don't think we need a lot of people. If we keep it to 10 or under it will be perfect. I won't exclude people if they want to come but if it ends up at being under 10 that will be fine. I will have the gear I listed above and hopefully more. I should be able to get a bunch of vinyl. Hopefully, Veda-Audio will send some gear, I hear their amps are pretty good.

The Brinkmann gear is gorgeous, Mike.

Any chance your dealer friend also has these Brinkmann monoblocks? I am shopping for new power amp, and it would be great to hear them.

This is shaping up to be another great Florida gathering.

I have not seen the mono blocks in the shop but I will ask if he can get a pair. I think we will have a pair of these as well:

To bad you can't make it tomorrow night, I have two invitations to the grand opening of Scores North Miami. I guess I will have to find someone else to give the other invitation to this private party.
