Team Jolida!!! Team Source!!!

Recently got a jolida 100a, might i add that it is my first real source/cd player EVER. I've dabbled in the portables, like a d-25s, and ipod of course, but felt it was time to get a real source for a change.

Wow, this is truely an amazing player, this is what tubes are all about! I can understand where people are coming from saying this is an analog like cd player, but I don't think its too warm or mushy, there is tons of detail and resolution. Right now, i've got telefunken 12ax7's rolled in there, they're ok, expecting some GE JG5751wa tmb's coming this weekend, as well as some GE 12ay7 blackplates as well.

For a long time, i've tried to convince myself my portables were just as good as a home unit, because i have good cans (sr-225) and a good amp (sr-71). Well, now with a dedicated source, i'm getting tons of detail, warmth, bass impact, and a much greater soundstage and imaging then i had before.

WEll that's about it, other jolida owners are welcome to chime in, thanks to djbnh for all the help and advice!

thanks, definitely, i really think if you are trying to build a really good system for your music, the headphones should be first, because i think they are the biggest culprit if the sound is not up to par with your needs. THen i would say upgrade your source, then amp, and finally cables. Go team source!

I if I had to choose between a $4K headphone and $100 source, and a $4K source and $100 headphone, I'd pick the $4K source every day and twice on Sunday.

Glad to see you're enjoying your new setup.

Just gotta agree with you completely. I was in the same situation as you. Cheap sources and nothing but. Upgraded the CDP and it sounds just fantastic. I actually do not need to use treble, bass controls or equalizers
It's perfect the way it is and doesn't need to be touched.

The people on this forum helped me out a lot too. Although they did cost me a bundle
