Looking for a transparent external balance control

My right ear doesn't hear as well as my left, and I would like to shift the balance slightly to the right.

I would like to use this in between my iPod and amp, and if it's transparent enough even use it for my main rig where I don't have good balance control either.

Does anyone know of a good transparent balance shifter. kind of like a balance knob I can plug inbetween the line out and amp?

Suggestions are appreaciated.

I'm not exactly electrically inclined, I can solder and do various things, but I don't have really the know how or right equipment to make one myself. I suppose I could muddle through it if I had some step by step instructions, but I would prefer to buy a completed device, or perhaps get one of the DIY guys to make one for me.

Any deas?

Anyone?

The sonically best and most convenient solution would be to solder two resistors as voltage dividers into one channel of the cable (the one to be attenuated), preferrably into one of the plugs. But first you have to find out the values for the exactly right dose of attenuation -- in consideration of the input impedance. I would contact one of the DIYers to do the job for you.
