I have my Sonic Impact T-Amp now and I've been procrastinating on buying a power supply. Anyway, I know that I shouldn't get a power supply higher than 13.8 volts, but does the amount of amps matter? The T-Amp says it was designed for 2 amps, but I was just wondering if it would function alright if I used a regulated 13.8VDC 5-amp continuous, 7-amp surge.

As long as the voltage is controlled to no more than 13.8V, the 5 amp supply will be fine. You will only be drawing the actual amps required by the SI, not the rated 5 amps.
Just be sure that it is a regulated PS, or better still, Linear.
